Pickleball Paddle Shapes – What should I use?

🎾 Elongated (16.5″ x 7.5″)

Designed for extra reach, power, and spin. The sweet spot is farther from your hand, helping generate more paddle head speed which creates more power and spin. Great for former tennis players or power-focused games. Downsides? Slightly slower at the net and may strain wrists or elbows due to leverage.

🎯 Standard (16″ x 8″)

The most balanced and forgiving shape, with a wide sweet spot and good hand speed—great for blocks and quick exchanges. Ideal for all skill levels, from beginner to pro, and perfect for wrist-driven shots.

⚡ Hybrid (16.25″ x 7.5–7.7″)

A blend of elongated and standard shapes. Offers good control and speed, with a slightly smaller sweet spot. Agile and fast, often with a longer handle for two-handed backhands. Great for players who value quick reactions and don’t mind sacrificing a bit of forgiveness.

🔍 Which one’s right for you?
